Public debates in China after the pandemic, with Kristin Shi-Kupfer and Katja Drinhausen

In December 2022, the Chinese government abruptly ended its zero Covid policy. How has the space for public debate changed over the past year? How are China's ambitions and challenges being debated? And why does it make sense to research debates in China? Answers are provided by China Spektrum project leaders Kristin Shi-Kupfer, professor of sinology at the University of Trier with a focus on digital China, and Katja Drinhausen, head of the politics and society program at MERICS. The interview was conducted by Johannes Heller-John.
