Angela Köckritz is an award-winning journalist and writes for DIE ZEIT, among others. She started her career in 2005 at Süddeutsche Zeitung. From 2007 on she worked at DIE ZEIT as a political editor and international reporter. She was the ZEIT Beijing correspondent from 2011 to 2014. From 2017 to 2020, she was Africa correspondent based in Senegal, and wrote for DIE ZEIT, Geo, Mare and Brand Eins. In 2020 she was Journalist-in-Residence at the Social Science Center Berlin and in 2023 she was a Visiting Scholar at Chengchi University in Taipei. Angela has written two books and is co-host of the podcast “Sea of Change”, which covers China, geopolitics, geo-economics and Indo-Pacific issues. She studied Political Science, Sinology and Art History in Berlin, Munich and Tainan, Taiwan.
